Sharing The Crown
Central to the visual language of the video is Marsha’s iconic flower crown.
During on-site filming at Pride in New York and Minneapolis, the team introduced the crown with the intention of sparking dialogue about Marsha’s contributions to the historic movement.
Many participants—both younger and older, weren’t familiar with Marsha’s story. But when we shared that she wore a flower crown and handed out flowers as small acts of joy and community care, something clicked. Their responses were immediate and emotional. Many recognized Marsha P. instantly—sharing stories, memories, and helping us carry her legacy forward. Passing the flower crown quickly became a unifying ritual of resilience, remembrance, and solidarity.
